I LOVE MOVIES - (The Departed Employee)

the_departed.jpgForgive me Father, it's been three months since my last cinema confession. But now you don't have to wait to read my dumb ass movie opinions, now you can listen to me spout off on my very own podcast, I LOVE MOVIES WITH DOUG BENSON, available now at http://www.handheldcomedy.com!

A new episode appears every Monday. And I share each one with a famous comedian or actor or comedian/actor that you might not have heard of! Upcoming guests include Paget "Huff" Brewster, Michael "Melvin Goes to Dinner" Blieden and Bob "Bobanddavid.com" Odenkirk! And if you are in the Los Angeles area, be sure to come by the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre to see the show live! For more info, go to www.ucbtheatre.com or go to hell. Now, reviews of four movies I saw. (And six others.)

THE DEPARTED - If I were an undercover mole in a dangerous situation, I would probably set my cell phone on vibrate.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH - Movie of the year!*

INVINCIBLE - I wanna make a movie about my reaction to this movie. It would be called INDOUGNATION.

INFAMOUS - Is America ready for another Truman Capote bio-pic? Or more importantly, was America ready for the first Truman Capote bio-pic?

THE SCIENCE OF SLEEP - I prefer Michel Gondry movies that are the length of a Bjork video.
JET LI'S FEARLESS - I don't know if that title means Jet Li Is fearless, or that he owns fearlessness in general. Perhaps he snagged the patent.

ALL THE KING'S MEN - Couldn't make this story interesting again.

THE ILLUSIONIST - Edward Norton stars as an 19th century magician who performs illusions that can only be accomplished with 20th century movie special effects. More specifically, 1976 special effects.*

IDLEWILD - I'd rather see GIRLS GONE IDLEWILD.

SNAKES ON A PLANE - It's like UNITED 93. But with snakes.

*Pick a year before the invention of movies.

**That aren't particularly special or effective.
